Jensen 1071 completed, shown below already together with the oak wood speaker stands, with 3 massive spikes. Took some time to assemble the stack, due to weight, spikes and all.
Frankly speaking, I was sceptic, when I started my adventure with the speaker spikes concept.
Now I have to confirm. Indeed, the imaging, with the bottom level spikes, is enhanced.
Even the bass is now tighter.
Now I’m just wondering, how much am I missing out due to the fact that I decided not to drill holes in the floor of the woofer cabinets, hence the oak wood boards with spikes are not firmly bolted to the woofer. The woofer is simply standing on the support structure.
Having said the above – I do indeed like what I now hear.
Answering a reader’s question: Yes, these Scan Speak Revelator Series transducers ARE a state of the art, so the price tag is one that you would expect to accompany such excellence in workmanship. Obviously, there are various ways or distribution channels, where you can try to source them locally, or with minimum transportation costs, etc. Some distributors are more expensive than others …
